SPANISH LANGUAGE PROGRAMS

NO SPANISH REQUIRED! Students in this program will be enrolled in a 4 week intensive Spanish language course, with the option of enrolling in consecutive courses to form 8 and 12 week programs. Courses are available for beginner to advanced level Spanish students and are held at the University Language Center where local Argentine students also attend classes in foreign languages. This program includes 3 hours of insturction daily from Monday through Friday as well as outings to places of cultural and historic interest in Buenos Aires. Average class size is 8-10 students.

INCLUDED IN THIS PROGRAM

NO APPLICATION IS REQUIRED! This program is open to anyone 18 years or older who is interested in learning or improving their Spanish. Academic credit is granted; however, it is not necessary to be enrolled in a university in order to participate.

SEMESTER AND ACADEMIC YEAR PROGRAMS

Students in this program will be enrolled in regular courses alongside Argentine students in either the Faculty of Social Sciences or the Faculty of Philosophy & Arts and be completely immersed in the unique and vibrant culture found on this politically-charged university campus. Having an advanced level of Spanish is necessary in order to participate in this program as all courses are taught in Spanish, and students will be expected to complete all of their assignments in Spanish. Depending upon the Faculty selected, students will either be assigned an academic tutor or be given the option to enroll in an academic writing course for international students at no additional cost.

REQUIREMENTS: All applicants should be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at their home university and have a demonstrated advanced level of Spanish (B2 or higher).

SPANISH LANGUAGE PROGRAMS

Classes are communication-based and taught by professors with expertise in applied linguistics at the School of Languages & Foreign Studies. This program includes 5 hours of instruction daily from Monday through Friday. Average class size is 15-20 students.

SEMESTER AND ACADEMIC YEAR PROGRAMS

NO SPANISH REQUIRED! Students in this program will be enrolled in the Argentine and Latin American Studies program, which has been specifically designed for international students, and have the option of taking courses and completing assignments in either Spanish or English. Participants with an advanced level of Spanish will also have the opportunity to take regular courses alongside Argentine students in the Architecture, Humanities, Law and Business Administration Schools of the university.

Students in this program will be enrolled in the Latin American Studies program and take all courses in Spanish which focus on the culture, economy, literature, politics, history, arts and architecture of the region. The option to enroll concurrently in courses offered by  other Faculties at the university is also available to international students. Demonstrated proficiency in the Spanish language is required to participate in this program.
